As the end of the year approaches, the top four best sellers have taken their seats R11; it's Camry, Accord, Corolla, Civic. All four vehicles, however, have relatively spongy numbers for the year, the Hondas were down a bit, the Toyotas, up a little.
However, the new Civic had a grand month, up 22.9%, bringing it just about even for the year. If you look at the monthly numbers, it came in just under the Corolla by about a thousand units R11; is it mad to say the Civic and the Corolla might have a horse race in 2006?
This is the first time the Hyundai Sonata has been on the list R11; and now with the Alabama plant up to capacity, will the American-built Sonata stay in the over-10,000 unit a month mark?
The Pontiac G6 also made an appearance this month, probably due to the Red Tag Sale, but still, 14,175 units is nothing to sneeze at.
Both the Chevy Cobalt and Chrysler 300 have flirted with the list several times this year, and with nearly 200,000 units sold, it is the seventh best-selling car in America. Not bad.
While the Nissan Altima did have a down month, off 7.3%, it is still in fifth place for the year to date, up 9.6% over 2004.
